Together, Central Wisconsin School of Ballet and our official company Wausau Dance Theatre invite you to attend award winning productions of the Nutcracker and Carnival of the Animals. For over 40 years
we have been educating students and audiences in the art of dance and importance of culture in our society. With awards from the City of Wausau, WAB, and National Endowment of the Arts, we continue to offer high quality performances that include comprehensive study guides available online and classroom visits prior to performances.

THE NUTCRACKER

In conjunction with The Nutcracker, we would like to visit your school
and/or classroom with a pre-performance program, which brings basic
ballet introduction, costuming, and the many facets of the production
right to your classroom. These 35 minute visits are vital in preparing your
students for the best possible theater experience. Special Guests Include: Maria Richetto & Carlos Lopez, Principal Dancers, American Ballet Theater.
The Nutcracker Production Time: 75 minutes
CARNIVAL OF THE ANIMALS
A favorite among children and adults, your students will enjoy watching
these amazing characters come to life to the familiar music of Camille<
Saint Saens.
In conjunction with the production, Wausau Dance Theatre will visit your
classroom/school. Our "Access Dance" program will engage students
of all ages the art of dance, sharing costumes/masks and many aspects
of the production. You will also have access to our GENERAL BALLET and
CARNIVAL OF THE ANIMALS material available online. Special Guests include children's author Bruce Lansky and pianists Bette Close and Lily Brissman.
A favorite among students and educators, Mr. Lansky will present a 40 minute session of poetry, reading and writing that will include the narration he ha written for Carnival of the Animals. This visit will only be available to classes registered for the Carnival of the Animals performance.
Carnival of the Animals Production Time: 60 minutes
Performance held at the Historic Grand Theater, Wausau Student ticket price per show is $5.00. Teachers/Chaperones attend free of charge. Any school/class attending both shows (can be different grade level) will receive a discounted rate of $8.00, a savings of $1.00 per student.
